How many people can the venue accommodate?

The reception hall can accommodate weddings up to 130 guests, with dining, buffet and dance floor.  Banquets up to 150 (no dance floor).
For larger parties, we recommend our spacious lawn for a beautiful tent wedding or event. 

Do I need event insurance?

Event insurance is required for each day the property is reserved.  

How do I reserve The Grove?

A $500 deposit is required to reserve your wedding date.
The balance is due in full prior to event .  Contact The Grove for more details.

Where can my guests stay?

Oneonta and Cooperstown, NY are short drives from The Grove.  There are a number of hotels and rental properties all within a 15-30 minute drive.

Can I have my ceremony at The Grove?

Yes!  The Grove has both indoor and outdoor ceremony options.  The non-denominational chapel is available year round and can be decorated to fit your style/theme.  
We have several outdoor options for ceremony sites as well.  Large, spacious lawns surrounded by trees and outdoor patios.
Chapel and venue chairs are for indoor use only.  Seating for outdoor ceremonies will need to be outsourced.  The Grove can provide a preferred vendor list.

Can I have my rehearsal dinner at The Grove?

Yes, with a weekend rental, you'll have Friday access to decorate, hold ceremony rehearsal in the chapel or outdoor site, and enjoy rehearsal dinner in the reception hall with full kitchen access.   

Can I extend my rental through Sunday?

Yes, Sunday rental is a great option for Brunch with the Newlyweds and farewell activities.

Am I able to choose my own caterer?

Yes!  The Grove has a full kitchen available for your choice of caterer to use.  One stove, two convection convertible ovens, refrigerator, microwave, sink, and food service tables.

What do I need for tableware?

You can personalize your day by selecting your own linens and dishware for use at The Grove.   This assures you have the colors and styles you want to make your event complete.  Dining tables are 60" rounds and there are 8ft banquets for food service, misc.

What is the clean up policy at The Grove?

The grounds and buildings are to be returned to the condition they were in before your event.  All vendors are expected to leave the area in the shape they found it.  A clean up checklist will be provided.  Neglected clean-up will result in use of your security deposit.

Does The Grove have a preferred vendor list?

The Grove will provide a preferred vendor list suggesting caterers, dish and linen rentals, tent rentals, and other specialty items.
